Army Sgt. Enrique Mondragon
23 Year old Enrique Mondragon of Little Elm, Texas was killed Christmas Eve in Baraki Barak, Afghanistan, when his unit was attacked by small arms fire while on patrol.
Mondragon was born and raised in Dallas and attended The Colony High School his junior and senior years graduating in 2007.
Services will be at noon Tuesday at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano. He will be buried at 2:30 p.m. in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery.
His family will receive visitors from noon to 9 p.m. Monday at Mulkey-Mason Funeral Home in Lewisville.
Mondragon was a military police officer assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 173rd Special Troops Battalion, 173rd Airborne Combat Team based in Bamberg, Germany.
He is survived by his wife, Katie Mondragon, his 2-year-old daughter of Little Elm, Beverly; his parents, Sergio and Barbara Martin-del Campo of Carrollton; his sister, Diphna Charo of Carrollton; and two brothers, Sergio Martin-del Campo Jr. and Alexis Martin-del Campo, both of Carrollton.
His remains were returned to Dallas from Dover Air Force Base, Del., on Sunday, the sixth anniversary of his first date with Katie.
